RTP Explained

RTP, or Return to Player, is the single most useful number for choosing a slot. It’s the percentage of all money wagered that a game pays back over the long run. A 96.5% RTP means the slot returns £96.50 for every £100 staked across millions of spins, keeping £3.50 as the house edge.

Crucially, RTP is a long-run statistical average, not a promise for your session. You can lose on a 98% slot or win big on a 94% one — RTP tells you the math over time, not what happens tonight.

As a rule, treat 96% as your baseline; 97%+ is excellent. Many studios release the same slot at different RTP versions, and casinos choose which to run — so always check the in-game info screen for the version you’re playing.

RTP works alongside volatility (how the return is distributed) and house edge (100% minus RTP). Understanding all three helps you pick slots that match your budget and risk appetite. Browse our highest RTP slots for the best-paying titles.
